SOCIAL PROTECTION OF THE POPULATION: THEORETICAL BASIS AND EXPERIENCE OF UKRAINE

The results of reviewing the textbook "Social protection of the population of Ukraine" by M.M. Ruzhenskyi and M.M. Ruzhenskyi are presented. Emphasis is placed on the extreme relevance of this educational publication in connection with the aggravation of the problems of ensuring effective social protection of the population after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation in February 2022. A neat structure of the textbook and the logic in the presentation of material, its accessibility for different categories of readers are positively characterized. As an important conclusion of the textbook’s authors, the presentation of social and labor relations as a leading component in the mechanism of the social protection of population is singled out, as well as the identification of social partnership as a means to harmonize relations in the field of social protection of the population and promote the formation of socially responsible business in Ukraine. It is noted that the reviewed textbook deepens the theory of social protection and the formation of the social policy of the state, and may also become a serious basis for improving the practice of social protection of the population of Ukraine.
