INTERNATIONAL ECONOMIC RELATIONS IN THE ERA OF GLOBALIZATION: HISTORICAL AND THEORETICAL ASPECTS OF MODERN WORLD ECONOMIC RELATIONS

The fundamental changes taking place in modern socio-economic and political life indicate the creation of the necessary preconditions for the beginning of a new era of human development characterized by the formation of a global worldview, strengthening economic interdependence and supranational regulatory framework. This actualizes the rethinking of the most significant trends and patterns of development of the world economy and world economic relations in terms of their ability to promote economic development at the level of nation states. The uniqueness of the reviewed textbook lies in the study of international economic relations as a holistic system and their consideration in three planes. First, the identification of the most general patterns of universal nature, reflecting the historical genesis and structure of the world economy. Second, determination of the forms of manifestation of existing patterns at different historical stages in the civilizational, regional and transcontinental dimensions, which allows the author to significantly specify the subject and method of studying international economic relations. Third, consideration of international economic relations in the context of creating an adequate institutional mechanism for regulating and managing them at the national and international levels. The author's approach “history – theory – practice” contributes to the awareness of the importance of compliance with the historical context of the promoted ideas, which, being framed in the form of hypotheses and theories, can determine both international economic relations and business practices. A deep understanding of the historical basis of the modern system of international economic relations and its theoretical support will protect against the confession of formatted, justified by the conjuncture “truths”, will give a chance to choose the best policy that can bring practical benefits to the state.
