It is shown that the scientific developments of A. Pokrytan and representatives of his school made an important contribution to the methodology of economic theory. It is substantiated that the research of scientists on the problems of property, the theory of social reproduction, methodological problems of economic theory are in demand today in the study of the problems of the Ukrainian economy and the world economic system.
